Attorney-Compliance

    Responsibilities
    Overview:
This position is an integral part of the Office of Integrity & Compliance, Legal Department, by providing high level support to the compliance program company-wide.  The position reports to the Staff Attorney and Director – Compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reviews potential conflicts of interest and ensures resolutions are implemented, where necessary.
• Develops compliance training programs.
• Develops employee communications.
• Manages the flow of reports to OIC from intake through investigation and final resolution.
• Responsible for identifying legal and business issues in reports to categorize risk areas:

- Analyze claims to properly assign matters to appropriate investigatory groups.
- Work closely with Security, HR, and Employment Counsel and track progress of investigations.
- Seek resolution of cases with designated business partners.
- Review summaries of investigations to ensure thoroughness.
- Ensure reports are handled promptly and that rules of confidentiality are rigorously observed.
- Maintain all case files in confidential case management database.
• Conducts research to support litigation and EEO complaints.
• Develops enhancements for compliance processes and procedures.
• Manages third party vendors supporting the OIC.
• Prepares periodic reports to senior management including trend analyses, tracking and risk assessments.
• Drafts procedures as required and conducts periodic audits of internal processes/systems.
• Participates in effectively communicating the ethics and compliance policies, procedures and practices to all employees through training programs.
• Supports the Director-Compliance with maintaining ethics and compliance program, including handling projects as assigned.
    Qualifications
    Required:
• Education:  J.D with excellent academic performance.
• Licenses:  Admission to and in good standing with the bar in at least one state.
• Work Experience:  2-4 years experience in ethics and compliance or related field such as employment law with counseling experience in both law firm and in-house environments.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Highly developed analytical reasoning skills, report analysis and keen attention to detail and processes.
• Strong project management skills with proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion and team management skills.
• Strong sense of integrity.
• Strong business knowledge and confident decision making skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, motivational and leadership skills.
• Ability to appropriately balance legal and business risks.
• Well-honed legal and business skills including familiarity with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Highly organized - ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and process high volumes of work in a timely and accurate manner
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team player
• Thorough working knowledge of computer software programs, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw and the ability to maintain case management databases.

Preferred:
• Knowledge in the areas of employment law
• Knowledge of wireless industry with business insight
• Experience in case management and document management systems development
• Experience in investigating alleged misconduct
• Knowledge of U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and Sarbanes-Oxley Act
